Part one of my interview with S.A. Bodeen, young adult author and winner of ALA's Young Adult Quick Picks for her book The Compound. Her other books include The Raft, The Garden, The Fallout and her new book, The Detour.
Questions:

Me: What inspired you to write The Detour?
SB: I had been hearing about a lot of young people getting big book deals, and it got me thinking about the pitfalls that could happen.

Me: Which famous person living or dead would you want to meet and why?
SB: Marilyn Monroe, I adore her.
3.)
Me: What are your aspirations for the rest of your career?
SB: Keep writing as long as I can.
4.)
Me: What is the most rewarding part about being an author?
SB: Hearing from readers who liked reading my books.
5.)
Me: Do you aim for a certain number of words or pages to write a day?
SB: If so what is that goal? I try to hit 1000 words.
6.)
Me: Do you have any advice for up-and-coming authors?
SB: Read all you can, write all you can, and pay attention in English class.
