Derpy: Do you listen to music when you write?

V. Arrow: I actually can’t focus if music is playing! I either write in silence or while a dull TV show that I’ve seen before is playing in the background, like Law & Order, just to have a little chatter/human voice.

Derpy: What are your favorite TV shows?

V. Arrow: Either Elementary, The Bletchley Circle, Bob’s Burgers, or Parks and Recreation. Although I also really like The Great British Bake Off, which is a “hunger games” all its own, I

suppose.

Derpy: What part of writing The Panem Companion was your favorite?

V. Arrow: I think researching the chapter “The Games as Exploitation, Exploitation as

Entertainment” was the most eye-opening…and the most dystopian.
